There is a vibrant voyaging community on the island of Kaua‘i. Recently, a few of Kaua‘i's voyagers flew to O‘ahu in order to sail Hōkūle‘a back to their home island. With the wa‘a on island, Kaua‘i sailors were able to train for the worldwide voyage prior to the completion of their own canoe, the Namahoe.
Kaua‘i residents are welcome to help finish the Namahoe. If you're interested in volunteering, please email Dennis Chun at dennisch at hawaii dot edu.
As we receive additional photos and videos from Kaua‘i, we will post them. In the meantime, here are a few of the Kaua‘i voyagers.
