Many have asked, "how do you cook on board?" "What do you eat?"
On their way to Palmyra Atoll, the crew took turns cooking. The stove is in a fire proof box and there are two fire extinguishers on board. The meals were made up of dried foods such as pasta and rice, supplemented with fresh foods that could keep (such as carrots, sweet potato and kalo) and dried fruits and vegetables.
Unfortunately, they did not catch any fish. This may be a result of the pressures put upon the worldʻs fish populations. Itʻs estimated by the United Nations Environment Program that 80% of the worldʻs primary fish catch species are exploited beyond their ability to sustain.
