Manavaroa Worthington is known to his friends as Kamaki. His mother hails from the Cook Islands. His father was a longtime supporter of the Hōkūle‘a and the Polynesian Voyaging Society. Kamaki is a professional stand up paddle surfer and works for the Honolulu Fire Department as a search-and-rescue fireman.
