Christopher Baird was born in Honolulu, but grew up in the town of Waimea on Kaua‘i. Chris is a public school teacher at Olomana School. Chris has also taught at a Juvenile Detention Facility for more than 22 years.
“I’m excited to embark this voyage because I enjoy deep water sailing. We’ll be together for about a week or so, and I’m really looking forward to it. I know we’re all going to learn a lot about Oceania, about one another, and about ourselves. I’m very honored to sail on Höküle‘a and take part in this journey.”
“I believe this worldwide voyage, will bring people together, especially those from different backgrounds, traditions and experiences. Sailors, scholars, and people from around the world will be following our voyage, and I hope that it is an inspiration to them.
