Captain/Navigator
Bruce Blankenfeld is fromthe Ahupua‘a o Niu, Moku o O‘ahu. He currently works with the Honolulu Terminals as a clerk on the waterfront. He is a longstanding volunteer with the Polynesian Voyaging Society.
“As captain and navigator, a major part of my job is safety for the crew and canoe. Another is teaching our watch captains the skills they need to become captains themselves. Also I really want to see Palmyra first hand and get a deeper sense of her environment, challenges, and her future.”
