Watch Captain
Bert Wong, better known by mostas Kaleo, is from Ko‘olaupoko, O‘ahu. Kaleo is a Conservation Biologist and Hawaiian Language graduate student at the University of Hawai‘i.
“I’m thrilled to join this voyage. It is a great opportunity to learn more about myself through sailing, as my ancestors have for thousands of years. At the same time, I know that I’ll gain valuable experience on the open ocean. We’ll be visiting the beautiful atoll of Palmyra, and on the voyage there, I’ll train as a watch captain for the upcoming worldwide trip.”
