Training while Hōkūle‘a is away
We have far more voyagers than can fit on Hōkūle‘a at any given time. So, the question is how do we train without constant access to the canoe. Currently, with Hōkūle‘a on the island of Hawai‘i, O‘ahu crews have to find other ways to increase their sea skills. Two of our crewmembers, Ka‘au McKinney and Jenna Ishii got in the water to do just that.
